Getting in

• Cape Town International Airport: The useful public option is the MyCiTi A01 Airport–Civic Centre bus: it runs about every 20 minutes and takes roughly 30–40 minutes to Civic Centre, the City Bowl’s transport hub; allow about R100 one way. Note the conflicting older advice online saying airport public transport ended—the current MyCiTi airport service is the one to check. For most hotel arrivals, especially after dark or with luggage, use Uber or Bolt from the app-designated pickup area: typically 20–30 minutes and roughly R150–R400 to the City Bowl, traffic depending. Ignore unmetered people in “official airport taxi” vests unless you have agreed the full fare first.
